Lush, ovate, green leaves with distinctive markings characterise the Calathea roseopicta ‘Green Goddess’. Its beautiful foliage makes it worth collecting!
There are many different forms of this attractive foliage plant, and when well cared for, you can expect years of enjoyment. Calathea is a genus of plants belonging to the family Marantaceae. There are several dozen species in this genus.
Your Calathea is well suited to those low light areas in your home many other house plants dislike. Indeed, it’s happy almost anywhere but not in direct sunlight. Can be used in sheltered outdoor gardens, again out of direct sun. It’s important to keep this plant away from areas that are prone to draught as they prefer warm to hot temperatures ranging from 18-23 degrees.
Water regularly - little and often - but allow the plant to dry out slightly between waterings. Adding fertiliser to the weekly watering will keep it flourishing.
Wipe the leaves with a soft damp cloth to remove any dust which may accumulate and avoid using any leaf shine products as this can damage the plant.
