These light weight earrings are created by Nichola. Nichola Te Kiri, of dual Māori and Pākeha heritage, was raised in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton), Aotearoa (New Zealand). Her upbringing within two worlds has helped develop her aesthetic for bold and courageous lines, prints and designs.
Tāniko designs express histories, ideas and values important in Te Ao Maori (The Maori World). This is our tāniko pattern representing Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) and our whenua (land). It is a section of a larger piece of tāniko.
